commercial clients strategic planning, enterprise architecture and Governance
support since 2005.
The Business Analyst/ Technology Planning position is for the team which is responsible for providing strategic planning and enterprise architecture support for a large government agency. The place of work will be in Downtown Washington DC.
This role requires close collaboration with many functional groups within the agency and external solution vendors to develop the technology strategy for the support of the defined and emerging business requirements. To successfully perform these activities, this position requires an individual who has in-depth experience in business and technology strategy development and has the ability to identify and evaluate financial and commercial aspects, formulate investment strategy and recommendations, and establish alignment with stakeholder’s strategies and operational processes.
Contribute to technology planning activities to support the business and organizational Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop the technology strategy for the support of the defined and emerging business requirements.
- Assist in business and functional requirements gathering, analysis and traceability
- Assist in the implementation of improvement programs across the organization
- Estimate costs/benefits of potential actions or solutions to establish their viability/ROI; assesses project impact of system changes on users and internal and external customers and stakeholders
- Determine the costs and benefits of strategic initiatives, using incumbent business, technology, and project life cycle experience- Produce reports, analyzes data and develops business cases- Prepare and maintain Technology Planning documentation- Provides consultative guidance and implement organizational improvement programs
Qualifications:-
-Bachelor of MIS or a related field –
-5+ years experience in working with IT application development organization
-Working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process- Working knowledge systems, IT technologies and applications
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute tactically to develop medium and long term technology plans
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills- Strong deck development and writing capabilities- Proficient with MS Office applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)- Requires BS/BA in related discipline; 5-8 years of experience in related field.
